Project Stitch & Soul was born out of a deep passion to change this narrative. Founded by Yashica Gupta, our mission is simple: to honor these artisans and connect their beautiful work with the world. We wanted to create a platform that not only showcases the rich heritage of India’s crafts but also empowers the hands that create them.
Each item, from intricately embroidered fabrics to finely crafted beadwork, carries a unique soul and tells a story of culture, identity, and legacy. Sadly, many artisans still struggle with fair wages, recognition, and a platform to shine. Md. Mirajbhai is a master artisan who has dedicated over two decades to the art of embroidery. Now 36 years old, he began his journey in this craft at a young age, learning the intricate techniques of both hand and machine embroidery from his father. This familial tradition has shaped his expertise, allowing him to carry forward a heritage of precision, creativity, and dedication.
For the past 22 years, Mirajbhai has refined his skills, specializing in detailed embellishments that bring fabric to life. His craftsmanship seamlessly blends traditional motifs with contemporary designs, ensuring that each piece he creates reflects both heritage and innovation. Whether through delicate hand embroidery or intricate machine work, his artistry adds depth and richness to every creation.
